About
The Arnold press is an overhead dumbbell press that begins with the palms facing toward the body. As the weights are lifted, the palms rotate outward. The primary load falls on the anterior deltoids, while the medial deltoids and triceps provide assistance.
How to do it
- 1Press upward while simultaneously moving your elbows out to the sides and rotating your palms to face forward.
- 2Finish with the dumbbells overhead, ensuring your back remains against the support and your torso does not lean away.
- 3Lower the dumbbells along the same path, rotating your palms inward as you bring the weights back down in front of your shoulders.
