Front squat

A squat with the bar resting on the front of the shoulders. The torso stays more upright than in a back squat, so the quadriceps and core work harder while the lower back is loaded less. It requires good wrist and upper-back mobility.
How to do it
- 1Rest the bar on your front delts close to the neck, elbows high and pointing forward.
- 2Stand with feet shoulder width apart and brace your abs.
- 3Squat straight down, keeping the elbows high and the chest open.
- 4Go as deep as you can without rounding your back.
- 5Stand up without letting the elbows drop.
