About
A machine overhead press is a seated vertical pressing movement in which the handles follow a fixed path. The primary load is placed on the anterior (front) deltoids, while the middle deltoids and triceps assist in pushing the handles overhead.
How to do it
- 1Push the handles upward until your arms are extended, taking care not to hyperextend your elbows.
- 2Keep your back and pelvis pressed against the supports while the levers are in motion.
- 3Lower the handles in a controlled manner to a comfortable starting position, approximately at shoulder level.
